We have housing and care operations in every region of the UK and in every kind of community - from remote rural villages to inner cities and industrial heartlands.

Our work takes us into some of the most economically and socially deprived areas of the country and wherever our work takes us we acknowledge that we have a responsibility to the wider community: responsibility for our service delivery; providing employment and training opportunities, our environmental impact and responsibility for improving  people's lives through our community projects.

Helping a local community to thrive increases the quality of life for its residents, helps develops new skills and motivation in our workforce and, by building strong community links, we develop better communications and mutual understanding which makes our day job that little bit easier too.

We have three specific aims alongside our service commitments:

  • To support and strengthen the communities in which we work
  • To recruit employees locally whenever we can
  • To encourage employees to volunteer their time and skills to benefit their local community

Working with Charities

Through our local businesses, over the course of a year, we support hundreds of different charities whose work coincides with our four CSR goals.

We don't select national charity partners at Group level because our staff want to support the causes that are meaningful or local to them and which is more rewarding to both sides.
